Devotional - let god control your mind

Read

The mind is the most restless, unruly part of humankind. Long after you have learned the discipline of holding your tongue and remaining silent, your thoughts continue to work against your will to be obedient. If your thoughts are working against your will to be obedient they may cause you to act against God. Man is the highest of God's creation, and the human mind is wondrously complex. God risked all by granting you the freedom to think for yourself. This is a privilege, forever setting you apart from animals and robots. He made you in His image.

Though His blood has fully redeemed you, your mind is the last stronghold of rebellion. Open yourself to God's radiant Presence, letting His Light seep into your thinking. When God's Spirit is controlling your mind, you are filled with Life and Peace.

Pray
Genesis 1:26–27

26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

  1. I think we should let God control our lives because with him anything is possible like Marvin Sapp's song says "Let Go and Let God". I think that because if you are in a bad place in life if you just take time to get on your knees and pray to God.

  2. When you get negative thoughts, you can pray and ask God to erase the negative thoughts out of your mind, and replace them with thoughts of good things. The Lord will help you,
you just need to ask God for help.

    1. Miles, you make an excellent pint. As a church, we must pray for one another to remain steadfast in God's call to walk according to God's truth.

  3. The mind is truly the most vulnerable organ in the body. It is often more challenging to control my thoughts, over and against emotions, anger, or excitement. Miles and Amir make excellent points --God has to be in control. Otherwise, we are all likely to allow the traps of the devil to catch us. Please pray that we all move towards allowing God to guide our thoughts. Pray as if everything you do depends on God. Walk as if everything you do, depends on you.

  4. I think it is natural to subconsciously think of things we might not ever do or say. That's a part of being human. But the more we align ourselves with God, the more we begin to think and act like him. We are of the world but that doesn't mean we have to be bounded by it, physically nor mentally.

  5. I will let god handle my life through the good and bad times. I like Amir's saying " let go and let god". Let god handle.

  6. After reading the scripture, my thought was that God put us all on earth for a special purpose, and therefore we must be a good reflection of him.

  7. God should have the rights to everyone's life. Mentally, physically, and emotionally. As we go on in faith, these bonds get stronger and then we won't have to check our minds for straying. We'll be living in God's image, striving to be like God at all times.
