Devotional - Jesus Calling
Trust Me in every detail of your life. Nothing is random in My kingdom. Everything that happens fits into a pattern for good, to those who love Me. Instead of trying to analyze the intricacies of the pattern, focus your energy on trusting Me and thanking Me at all times. Nothing is wasted when you walk close to Me. Even your mistakes and sins can be recycled into something good, through My transforming grace.
While you were still living in darkness, I began to shine the Light of My Presence into your sin-stained life. Finally, I lifted you up out of the mire into My marvelous Light. Having sacrificed My very Life for you, I can be trusted in every facet of your life.
Pray
Psalms 71:5-8
5For You are my hope, O Lord God;
You are my trust from my youth.
6By You I have been upheld from birth;
You are He who took me out of my mother’s womb.
My praise shall be continually of You.
7I have become as a wonder to many,
But You are my strong refuge.
8Let my mouth be filled with Your praise
And with Your glory all the day.
Do you believe the plan for your life has already been decided by God? Do you think God allows good and bad things to happen to you? If so explain.
Youth posts are due no later than Wednesday night. Post your response then read, reflect, and comment on the posts of others.
Great Blog. Looking forward to responses
ReplyDeleteI believe God has a plan for everyone's life. He allows good and bad things to happen as a test of your character. How you respond reveals the truth about you as a person.

DeleteHave you ever had a bad experience and knew that God was there for you--even when you were down?
DeleteI think God has already decided everyone's plan, but it's up to us to discover it. I believe God allows everything to happen for a reason because it leads us to the path he created for us.

DeleteBut here is the question....How do we discover God's plan?
DeleteI think that God has decided my plan for me because He knew of my birth before I was even born. I think He allows the good and the bad things to happen to me. The good things are like rewards for the good that I have done, and the bad things are tests from Him to see if I will continue to have faith.

DeleteI believe that God has everything planned out for you since the day he created you. He chose specific futures for each and everyone one of us. I don't believe he chooses bad things to happen for us only good things. The actions we choose can create bad things for us but it wasn't chosen for us.
ReplyDeleteAre you saying that God only allows good things to happen but we create the bad?
DeleteGreat insight. Remember what we discussed. Lets read one another's posts and get a dialogue going.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to know god is with me through the good and bad times in my life. Thank you god for all that you do for me.
ReplyDeleteGreat reflection Wes! Read some of the other posts and comment or ask questions when you have some time.
DeleteI am very impressed with each of your reflective posts. Ponder this question. If you believe everyone's life is pre-planned by God, even before birth, does that mean that God plans for things like the Boston bombings or drunk driving deaths to happen?
ReplyDeleteThe scripture reads, 5For You are my hope, O Lord God; You are my trust from my youth. Can we trust in God and believe He plans bad things for our lives?
I believe God knows when bad things will happen by people who do not trust him and go against his plans. But he plans a life for those who trust in him and do what he calls them to do. He knows that people who are against the word of God will commit terrible acts but he plans for people of Christ to be in those moments to spread the faith and live like God.
DeleteVery insightful Makeda. So let me make sure I understand what you're saying and please correct me if I'm wrong. You believe God's plans for us are good but we as people choose the bad?
ReplyDeleteYes I believe God plans good things for us. God give's free will to make the right decision, but sometimes we choose not to.
